Happy 4 months!

Our sweet happy boy is 4 months old today! I miss him being a newborn already but yet love this age too- his little personality comes out more and more everyday! He's quite the sweetie = ) I think the best thing is waking up in the morning to such a smiley boy- definitely starts your day off great!

We love our boy so much!

We recently switched Pediatrician's and felt like our appointment was more personable and not just run through the list of "yes/no" ?'s about what Coop is doing. Cooper is doing great and his shots this time were way better than 3-month shots- he barely cried at all! Thanks goodness because I can't handle it ha! I'm officially done breastfeeding now- since going back to work I quit producing as much and eventually dried up- my goal was 6 months but I'm fine with making it to 4. We've been giving Cooper formula for his night time bottle for awhile though so I'm glad I know his tummy can handle formula already.

  • Weight: 13 pounds and 7 ounces (25th %)
  • Length: 24 inches (25th %)
  • Head was 75th %- big head like his daddy = ) He'll just grow into it
  • First real giggles @ 3 1/2 months (3/28)
  • Rolled from stomach to back at 3 1/2 months (3/30)
  • Sleeping through the night still- we lay you down between 8:30-9 and you'll sleep until 7ish- sometimes I have to wake you up to get ready to go to the babysitters
  • You're loving toys now- we got you a new play mat (for Easter) with a piano at the end and you love to kick and play music- and sometimes get mad if we pick you up
We let Cooper try some rice cereal around 3 1/2 months- we mixed it with some formula and he was not for sure about it. Of course more went all over him than in his mouth

Then we tried oatmeal and liked that a lot better. We started mixing some in his bedtime bottle. Then at Cooper's 4-month appointment we talked about starting veggies. So we tried squash first and he kind of liked it. We tried sweet potatoes today though and he enjoyed that way better- more of it went into his mouth ha!
                              Eating some squash

Nothin too exciting has been going on around the Woody house. Just enjoying spending time with our little man and excited for warm weather to venture and play outside. Now just get ready for picture galore.

Easter presents from mimi/papaw (rabbit), nana/grandpa (nana got creative and decorated diapers = ) This momma was happy for diapers ; )

We gotta get our workouts in- this is Early and her daughter Blakely- Cooper gets to hang out with Blakely at her grandmas while we're working

Cooper has been falling asleep like this quite often. He has been quite the nap fighter but it has gotten 100x better! We've even started putting him in crib for naps and he does good or sometimes I'll hold him the whole time ; )

Davina, a girl from our Crossfit Box, made these awesome little desserts. She's so creative

Andrew has been going to some training courses since starting at Benton County. He just got back from LR and Cooper was excited to have his nap buddy back. I'm so thankful for an easy baby, definitely helps when Andrew has to be gone.

Getting snuggled at the Crossfit Terra-Firma BBQ- Cooper loved it.

We got good news and hopefully Andrews mom gets to come back home sometime this week! She has been in LR getting a second round of chemo. Keep her in your prayers for counts to keep coming up and to stay healthy so she can come home and see everyone and love on her grand-babies!

Happy 3 months!

I cannot believe our baby boy is 3 months old!! I'm about to start my 4th week back to work and it definitely doesn't feel like I've been back to work that long! Time needs to sloooowww down = )

To Cooper: You're such an easy-going, sweet boy. There's nothing better than waking up to your smiling face. Your daddy and I cannot get enough of you. We love you so much!

Cooper is sleeping through the night now in his crib. I figured out the diaper and waking up at 2am routine. My SIL had said how she double diapered her first son during the night. Cooper is in size 1 diapers so I put a size 2 diaper around that and it fixed the problem =  ) He doesn't wake up anymore because his diaper has soaked through- YAY!! He's still not consistent on a wake up time. It ranges from 5am-6am and sometimes I have to wake him up to feed him before I take him to the babysitter. My favorite thing is going into Cooper's room in the mornings and seeing him so happy and smiling!

Andrew had to go out of town this past week for work and I had a conference in LR on Thursday. So Cooper had his first overnight stay at his great aunt Darcy's house. I was sad but it was better than taking him to her house at 4am = ) She said he did great.

Now just some pictures-
                  Those crazy eyebrows
I thought this looked funny- daddy being silly
I finally got some frames for some of the newborn pictures- now to decide where to hang them. It's crazy how much he has changed
Cooper loves going to the gym and watching everyone workout and he gets tons of attention =)

Daddy helps a lot in the mornings while I get ready for work ha- they love sleeping together

Grandpa was in town and Cooper told him lots of stories

Uh-oh, the babysitter sent this to me a week ago. Sweet picture but the Speech Pathologist in me is screaming "TAKE THAT THUMB OUT OF YOUR MOUTH" =)

We introduced Sophie the giraffe to keep us from sucking on our thumb ; )

We spent some time at MiMi and Papa's (Andrew's parents) house this weekend because MiMi got to come home- YAY!!! She went and saw Dr. Travis at Highland in Rogers on Friday and got better news than they thought they would. Her bone marrow biopsy came back and the leukemia is curable rather than just treatable like they thought. Dr. Travis said she still needs to go through another chemo round but maybe just a 5-day one instead of a 7-day one. She will be leaving this week to go back to LR for this treatment- please keep her in your prayers for a quick recovery and NO complications (which happened the last round chemo) and that the chemo works and she gets to come home very soon!!!
Cousin time with Jude who is a month older- it was cute watching them coo to each other
I had to post this picture- little man is tired and cranky! He didn't get very good naps in today- he pokes out his bottom lip and it's so pitiful but so cute at the same time. This wasn't the best picture of it but I'm going to keep trying ha! He'll go from a smile to poking out the bottom lip and let out a cry- it's quite hysterical! He wants to be happy so bad but wants to cry too.

Happy 3 months sweet boy (he looks so much bigger in this picture!!) We love you sooo much- I can't imagine life without you
At 3 months- you're sleeping through the night, bringing toys up to your mouth, had your first over-night stay, sucked your thumb, eating formula mixed with breastmilk (2oz of each), laughing & cooing tons, growing out of almost all 0-3 month clothes

The weather is getting nicer and I love it!! Enjoy the nice weather (with the exception of today).

Survived & Randomness!

Well I started back to work on Monday the 25th. I was kind of excited to go back because my work moved offices and the new one is sooooo NICE and I hadn't gotten to work in it yet. Little Cooper actually got to spend the whole day with his daddy since he was off work so it wasn't too bad knowing he was with him. Don't get me wrong I missed my boy but I was like ok this isn't too bad. Andrew even sent me a picture = )

Then Tuesday we took him to the sitter for half a day and daddy went and picked him up. Well then Wednesday hit and it was Cooper's first full day at the sitter and it was different then- I worried about if he was doing ok and how he was. His sitter is sweet and sent me a picture of him which made my day = ) Thursday it hit me big time and I cried- I don't know why it hit me later in the week but it just hit me and I realized this isn't like just leaving him for a bit, it's leaving him everyday and I don't get to spend all day/everyday with him! I got another picture Thursday from my friend Early (her mom watches Cooper for us). Anyways we did survive and it'll take some adjustment but I look forward to weekends even more now and spending more time with my sweet boy = )

Cooper and I went to Conway this weekend to visit my parents and I had a wedding to go to on Saturday in LR. Cooper did GREAT driving to Conway and back home! I just fed him and we left right after and he slept the whole way, which made it very nice! He had a great time with Nana & Grandpa and got a bunch of goodies from them.

It's sideways but Cooper loves his new toy from nana/gpa- it sounds like a rainmaker

Saturday I met up with Big Kara and her husband/daughter for our friend Drew's wedding! She was a gorgeous  bride and so was the wedding!

Drew's husband is a Dr. so instead of doing a grooms cake they did a shot bar. (That's a "K" for their last name but it got cut off) I thought it was such a cute idea and really pretty. It's hard to tell but there's a stethoscope frozen inside and fruit/glasses
On Friday, Andrew watched Cooper while I worked in the morning since he didn't go to Conway with us. He sent me this picture of Cooper and wrote "too soon?"
Ha, check out Nala too, she's like "ummm, what's wrong with him"- Andrew said he thinks he would've liked it but he was hungry in this picture too.
So today we thought we'd try it again and he LOVES it- his feet just don't quite touch yet. Next time we'll have to put stuff under his feet- we just bounced him for awhile in it to see if he liked it.
I still can't believe how time flies by and how big Cooper is getting. He can't wear any NB clothes anymore and wears 0-3 month clothes and some 3-month ones. He's such a happy baby = )

**So I have question for mommy's out there or daddy's- Cooper is pretty much sleeping through the night now except for waking up at 2am. However, all I do is change his diaper (b/c soooo full) and put him back down and he crashes. I don't really know how to stop that 1 middle night wake-up to where he sleeps through the night- not that I'm complaining because he's a great sleeper.
I don't want to NOT change his diaper b/c it's always so full and I don't want him getting a diaper rash- but I'm afraid if he gets used to waking up at 2am he always will for a very long time- maybe not though? Anyways- this ever happen to anyone or what did you do?

Now just random picture time!

I bought these closet dividers from Etsy- makes Cooper's closet much more organized with clothing sizes = )

Watching momma get ready- I know they're gonna be best buds when Cooper gets older
A night out with friends for passing the Nurse Exam and starting a new job! Woohoo Amber! We went to 21c Museum Hotel- if you're up the Bentonville area I recommend it. They have these green penguins everywhere and like for people to move them around the place anywhere you want. Yes, it gets quite interesting!

Well here goes another week of work and taking Cooper to the sitter = ) Come on weekend ha! Have a great week

2 Months!

Wow our sweet boy is already 2 months old. I know what people are talking about now when they say "They grow up fast" because I wish I could slow it down already ha! Cooper has had quite a busy time since the last time I blogged. The sicknesses seem to have gone down a bit so we've been getting out a little bit more and I've gotten better/faster at getting that carseat in/out of the car = ) I think Crossfit has helped some in that department too though.
Sorry to some of your who have already seen these pictures before (facebook, instagram) but I want to add them to my blog too because I've heard you can make a book out of your blog posts. I'm going to try to do that at the end of the year.  So here goes the picture galore...

Nana came to vist about a week ago and we decided to head to the Fayetteville Mall. First we had to stop at Mojito's for a bite to eat (Benton County people we're getting one here too YAY). It was my first time using the stroller and figuring out how to open/collapse it down after we were done at the mall. Just picture me and my mom standing outside trying to get a stroller to collapse to put in the trunk- we kept dying laughing at ourselves! Mom finally got it though (it didn't take that long). Cooper did amazing that day. He got fussy while at SAMs and I opened up the tent cover and he just wanted to look around- he likes to know what's going on = )
I decided to use my Moby (sp?) wrap the other day. Poor Nala girl hasn't been getting to go on as many walks lately so instead of trying to walk Nala and use the stroller I pulled out this thing. By the time I figured out how to wrap it and with Cooper snug in it the temperature dropped a little bit so we didn't go very far AT ALL- Nala was still pooped though = ) Cooper I think absolutely loved it because he passed out immediately (I guess so snugged like he was in the womb again). My friend came over and brought her boyfriend's dog (Jax) and he loved Cooper's swing so I had to add the picture- he climbed up in it all by himself and fell asleep.

So the top picture is me and the bottom one if Andrew. Then the other two are of course Cooper- I can see him in both of us- what do you guys think? Andrew of course says it's all him (I think a lot of it is) but I think are smiles are similar too = )
Sweet boy you make the best facial expressions when we have our talking/singing time. You've recently been trying to help us with your bottle and Nala loves her little brother and is always watching over you.
Your 2-month appointment was on Valentines Day and it went great. Dr. said everything looked great and you're perfect. I'm doing the alternate shot schedule so you only had to take one 1 shot with a needle and the other was medicine. You cried a little bit during the shot but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. You are now weighing 11-pounds, 8-ounces (54th %) and 23" long (46th %).
2 Months old on Valentine's Day

Our little Valentine and little turtle from mommy/daddy
At 2 months:

  • You're talking up a storm! You will sit on our laps and coo/smile tons. We like to say "ooooo" back and forth to each other and "agooo"
  • You're doing great with head control and can control for minutes- never timed you but you have great control for awhile. We also still try to add in that tummy time everyday
  • You're still sleeping great in your crib- you take your last bottle around 9ish (5-6 oz of breastmilk) and wake up around 2-3 then again around 6ish but you'll usually go right back to sleep for a little bit. Right now since we don't have to get up early I'll usually come get you and lay you in bed with me and we sleep in =) You're quite the snuggle bunny and like to sleep in.
  • You'll usually wake up around 9-10 and then you're awake and ready to talk and play
  • We heard your first giggle on 2/10/13 and it was precious. It's not consistent but you've done it 3x
  • You're quite the hair puller and will grasp toys we put in your hands
  • You're getting more interested in toys and will just stare at them and you are a squirmer
  • You fight your sleep during the day- you'll be so tired but just fight it
  • You're such a happy boy and we love you so much!
On a different note: Andrew started a new job at Benton County working as a detective on the Gang Task Force Unit- they work close with the DUI team and K-9 for drugs. He works 4 days and has off 3 days. He's been there for 2 weeks now and is loving it!

Andrew's mom just got done with her 7-day chemo, now it's just a waiting game to see when her counts will come back up and for her to start feeling good before she gets to come home = )

I think I've caught up on everything now  = )
Have a good day!

Life with a baby

I'm not gonna lie, life with a baby isn't too bad! I wouldn't trade it for anything. We are so thankful for a good baby (knock on wood) so far. He can definitely make a crummy day into a great day.

Cooper is 6 weeks old now and I can't even believe he's that old! I know some of you are like "really it's just 6 weeks"- but it has gone by way too fast! I'm so thankful for an amazing job that allowed me to take off 10 weeks to spend quality time with him. I'm also thankful for old school 90210 and One Tree Hill re-runs because that's what I pretty much watch everyday! With the weather so cold and all the sicknesses going around we don't really get out too much. We've been out to eat some and Cooper goes to the gym with me and hangs out sleeps while I die during the workouts ha. It's been so nice being able to workout again but also HARD- it's frustrating pretty much having to start over and I don't miss being this sore ; ) but it's still worth it and it's my free-time/stress reliever.

Cooper is pretty easy going baby- he doesn't really fuss at all unless he's pooping or when he's fighting his sleep (he started doing this around 5 weeks) but he usually gives in pretty quick once I put him on my chest and pat his booty. He figured out he has a tongue around 4-weeks and would move it around quite a bit. He's also starting to be awake more during the day and we take advantage of it with some tummy/play time and singing. He's still doing really great in his crib and has been waking up 1x a night but he'll sleep for a good 5-6 hours before that wake-up so I'm getting good sleep. We are also still giving him 1 bottle a day before bedtime. Breastfeeding definitely makes me want to eat about 24-7! Some days are worse than others but I've been trying to stick to healthy things and get back on a somewhat zone eating plan.
Cooper you're one sweet baby and smiling/cooing more and more every day and I LOVE it! We love you so much!
Hanging out in my swing while mommy showers
Going to get some pizza with mom/dad and friends
We've started using this play-mat some but Cooper isn't really interested in the toys quite yet- he'll move his arms some and move the toys but it's not on purpose by any means.

Andrew and I have lots of family and friends that love to watch Cooper for us so we've gotten to have some date nights and lunch dates too!
                      At Clint's Benefit
Yummy dinner/drinks for the hubs birthday

On a different note: Andrew's mom recently got diagnosed with myeloid leukemia- She's been through TONS already and has to go through more strong chemo. She's been in LR since last Thursday and they haven't started the chemo yet due to trying to get her counts up since the chemo will cause them to drop very low. She could be in LR for awhile. Please keep her and the family in your prayers. Andrew will be heading to LR tomorrow to spend a couple of days with her while he's off work so his dad can work some.
