Where did 9 months go???

Our sweet boy turned 9 months on Saturday! Before you know it he'll be 1!!! NOOOO- such a bittersweet time! Cooper we love you so so much and you've definitely made life more exciting! You're figuring more stuff out and it's so fun to watch you examine everything and see the wheels spinning = )

Some new/first things:

  • had 9-month appointment. Weight- 18 pounds, 10 ounces (24th %), height- 28 inches (54%), head circumference- 19in. (i don't know the % on this but I'm guessing it's up there ha)
  • drinking from a sippie cup consistently- well water, no formula in sippie's yet
  • started eating breakfast, lunch and dinner with snacks- started just putting oatmeal in morning bottles because wouldn't finish your daytime bottles, i guess from being full of all that food you chow down on =)
  • went on your first family vacation to Big Cedar
  • you're still always talking I feel like and babbling away- dada has a been a new one you're saying a lot
  • have a tooth poking through- no it hasn't come all the way through yet but i'm counting it!
  • no more army crawling- crawling on all fours and FAST!
  • pulling up on everything you can
  • starting to cruise a little bit- not tons but I have feeling it's coming soonhad to move crib mattress to lowest level so you don't topple over when you pull up to stand
  • had your trip to the splash park
  • walk while holding on and pushing the big car on wheels (this is new, babysitter has one but we don't- getting one this weekend!)

          Trip to Big Cedar pictures

         Cousins 1-month apart

Vacation wore him out- he was sound asleep!

               Splash park fun!

Nala wants him to play fetch so bad

          He loves her Nala

                             WPS!!!!

         My new grin I learned

    I think he's watched Nala too much ; )

This boy hardly ever does this anymore- partially I'm sure my fault because we just lay him down in his crib awake at night and for naps and he falls asleep on his own- so I love it when he passes out on me!

     Sweet babies- they'll be BFF

8 months!

Geez, these 8 months have been the best and have flown by like crazy! Cooper is still the sweetest little boy. He's very easy going which makes it easier on us = )

Cooper and I had our last mommy-and-me swim class this past Thursday. I'm awful because I never got pictures but we were too busy swimming. Cooper LOVES the water and the past 2 sessions he went under. He did so well and it didn't even phase him- the swim instructor tells me she's amazed at how good he is for his age. He loves making bubbles in the water with his mouth.

Cooper is:
  • a mobile baby now- woo that means trying to keep and eye on him a lot and baby proofing better! He's crawling more now but he started out doing the army crawl. He still does the army crawl some but has been crawling more in the last couple of days
  • Also pulling himself up- this is fairly new (like within the last week). He'll pull up in his crib and stand tons, but has just started doing it outside of his crib
  • using a pincher grasp quite a bit while eating
  • still eating pureed foods + puffs and yogurt melts because still no teeth
  • playing peek-a-boo
  • still babbling quite often
  • going from crawling to sitting and vice versa
  • very hard to get dressed now and change diapers- he loves his bath books and that's pretty much all I have found to keep him still and occupied while changing him
Here's a couple of picture we had done when Cooper was 6 1/2 months old

                 Give me that food!!!!
Poor baby had his first booboo- I'm still confused how he broke skin on his plastic piano mat- but somehow it happened. Luckily he calmed down quickly! I can only imagine how many more booboos he's going to get = (
His 8-month picture was very hard to capture!! He just wants to pull up and move around constantly- it's like a whole new world to him

Don't ask me what this boy was doing! Maybe trying to stand?!?!? Whatever he was doing he looks like he's ready to be signed up for football!

7 months already?!?!?!

Wow- it's so bittersweet watching our little man grow up! I'm sure all parents feel this way- I love watching him figure out the world around him and do new things but yet I want time to freeze because it's going by WAY TOO FAST! I get teary eyed every time I think about how fast he is growing. I don't think he can get any sweeter and he's so easy-going.

Cooper you're the big 7 months now! I'm not for sure about your stats because we won't go back to the dr. until you're 9 months old unless you gets sick (hopefully that won't happen). If I was guessing on weight, I'd say you're getting pretty close to 20lbs. We've moved up to size 3 diapers and can still wear some 6 months clothes but some are a little snug = ) so we have some 9 months we wear too. You're sitting up on your own now like a champ. You haven't figured out the crawling yet but I think you're close because you'll rock like you're about to crawl. You roll around like crazy and spin around on your belly to explore all your toys. Your oral-motor skills have gotten much better (my speech friends will understand this = ) You're eating puffs quite often now and do great at picking them up and putting them in your mouth and mashing them up. Still no teeth- but you've been drooling this weekend like nothing else- so maybe there will be some soon!

There's been a bunch of first in the last month- get ready for pictures!

                                    BFF

1st Fourth of July- Cooper actually stayed up to watch the fireworks- we took lots of naps because I wanted him to see them. He would jump when they went off but just stared at them in awww- so all in all it was a great 4th. We ate at MiMi and Papaws and Daddy set off some fireworks at night

Swimming at Aunt Darcy's on the 4th

First time in a swing at MiMi and Papaw's

                Cousins on the 4th!

These 2 are a month apart- fighting over toys

Future crossfitters right now- this is Blakely (Coop's gf) and her grandma watches her and Cooper during the day. We're so thankful that we have such an awesome babysitter who loves Cooper like he's her grandson.

First time in a high chair at Mojitos (he liked holding that chip, I was shocked he didn't try to eat it)

Celebrated your girlfriends 1st Birthday!! We love you Blakely!!
             She loved her cake!

You liked swinging with daddy at the party

Your monthly picture was harder to take this year- you're quite a busy body!

Cooper watching Crossfit class with Coach Ashley
New PJ's- what is this on my feet?
We got to meet our friend's Blanca sweet baby Leon short for Leonidas- I can't believe Cooper was this tiny! = (

Tried to get a picture of them together without Cooper bothering him

Future Crossfit Babies!!!  Love these ladies!

Watching Evelyn play some soccer- Cooper was interested- future soccer play? maybe...
         Celebrated Paxton's 1st birthday!! Such a cutie!
Cooper and Griffin playing at the birthday party- they're a week apart- it's funny because Cooper was born on Griffin's due date and Griffin was born on Cooper's due date! Griffin came a week late and Cooper a week early

Really working on drinking out of a sippy cup better

I think I hit key things- if not I'll just add later = ) I count my blessings everyday for my sweet healthy little family! Love them to pieces and I don't even remember what life was like before Cooper. He definitely makes it way better!

6 Months!!

Yep our little boy is 6 months!! This year is flying by! I've asked people is it just because I have a kid- most of them say that has a lot to do with it but I think everyone feels like this year is flying by. I can't believe how big Cooper is getting and figuring out this world around him.

The Facts:
  • Weight- 16lbs, 12oz (45th %)
  • Height- 26", almost 27" (50th %)
  • You're rolling from back to stomach constantly now (first time 5/31/13)
  • Babbling tons- has m, b, d consonants and will say bababa, dadada, mamama (I know you aren't associating mama with me but I still love hearing it)
  • You are prop sitting pretty good and will sit up without using your hands for help for about 10sec. then fall - a little top heavy = )
  • Still sleeping through the night in your crib (8:00ish-7:30ish) and mainly on your tummy now since rolling over
  • You drink 5-6 6oz. bottles a day
  • Went swimming for the first time and LOVED it
  • Got circumcised = (
  • Love it when I sing ABC's (I think b/c I started singing it from day 1)
  • Love playing peek-a-boo
  • Grabbing everything and play with it in your hands to figure it out- then whatever it is usually goes to the mouth
  • We held out for 2 months but finally let you eat fruits, you aren't too much of a fan yet
  • You've tried pears, sweet potatoes w/apple (you love this one)
  • You're in btwn a size 2 & 3 diaper- depends on the brand so we've been doing both because we still have diapers that people have bought for us (thank you)
  • Wearing some 3-6 months clothes (again depends on brand) but mainly 6-months clothes
  • Stayed your first night with Mimi/Pawpaw and did great for them

Cooper you're such a sweet happy boy! People always comment on how easy-going/happy you are, your pretty head shape and how handsome you are. We can't imagine our lives without you and love you so much!

We went swimming at Mimi and Pawpaw's and you loved the water- stayed in for a good 30minutes. We started doing swimming lessons last week. I didn't get any pictures but we loved it! We'll go back as soon as Cooper from his circumcision.

Cooper got circumcised the week after he turned 6-months. Yes, we wanted it done at birth but it didn't happen so we had to wait. We had to be at Mercy Friday morning at 5:30am and surgery started around 7:15. They put him completely under anesthesia since he's more mobile and did not want him to feel it at all. Surgery did not last long at all, but Cooper was not happy waking up from the anesthesia. He could only drink Pedialyte which he sucked down. After drinking some he passed back out for a bit then woke up happy as can be. We had to wait until he peed and then got to go home. Cooper was a trooper and was his normal self all night- he did wake up once crying pretty bad (which isn't like him) so we gave him some tylenol in case he was in pain and he slept the rest of the night.
Today we had to take the bandages off and that was not fun at all. Cooper cried and I'm sure it hurt but after a couple of diaper changes and putting Neosporin it doesn't seem to bother him at all anymore (which I'm so happy about it). Only thing that stinks is we have to wake up Cooper throughout the night to change his diaper because stitches could dissolve too quick if he's sitting in a wet diaper for a long time.

After surgery and ready to go home!

                 Happy boy at 6am

                Crazy boys

This boy will turn circles on his belly- I got some pictures of him doing it in his crib one night
